We generally recommend that your child is aged 4 or above to take a 45/60 minute class. 

We do offer 30 minute Junior Ballet Classes for children aged 3 and above as long as you can confidently answer yes to the following points:

1.  Can you child go to the toilet easily and independently?  You need to take into consideration that a leotard and ballet tights are quite difficult to pull up and down.

2. Will your child be ok in the class without your presence?  We do not allow parents/guardians into the Studio with the children.  Eileen has over 10 years experience teaching and says that children settle much more easily without parents in the Studio.

We ask that parents do not send children to ballet/dance class until they are confident enough to go to the bathroom by themselves.

We do, however, ask all guardians of children in Junior Ballet to stay in the building in case the children need to go to the bathroom.

At the end of Term 1 we have a 'watching week' where parents can come along and watch the class to see how much they have learned.

The simple answer to this is no.

Children settle much more quickly without the presence of parents.  Also if one child has their parent, the rest start looking for their own and it can be a snowball effect.

If your child/children is very shy the we have found that if a special toy comes in to watch the ballet/dance class that can help.  If however, your child can manage without that, it reduces the chance of losing a special friend.

A trial class is a great way to see if your child/children will enjoy dance.  If your child does not wish to continue you will not be charged for the trial!

Yes, we offer a sliding scale of discounts for families/siblings.  5% for two classes/children per week, 10% for 3 classes/children or 15% for 4 or more classes/children per week.

Yes, of course.  We do not expect students to arrive fully kitted out to the first class!  Leggings & bare feet with a tightly fitted t-shirt are absolutely fine for the first few weeks.

As a general rule we do not recommend that siblings attend the same class.  

The younger sibling tends to rely on the older and it can limit the older childs ability to enjoy the class as they tend to feel responsible for the younger child.
